Photographic Walk
We have created a walk through Middleton, tracing the past using a selection of photos from the Local Studies archive at Middleton Library.
The walk is approximately 5km long, and takes 1.5-2 hours, depending on walking speed.
The walk is wheelchair- and buggy-friendly; though cars may be parked on pavements occasionally.
There is a steep incline near the end of the walk, up Bardsley Street.
The footpath along Wince Brook is not wheelchair- or buggy-friendly, but you can follow the orange alternative along Grimshaw Lane - the two paths will meet again.
At each marker, you can compare the current view with a snapshot of the past.
The walk begins and ends outside Middleton Library (red pin).
If you’re using a mobile device, the map is best viewed in landscape orientation.
